DreamBIG Festival’s Big Family Weekend
As part of an event that attracted 33,000 patrons, Nonsense provided a variety of activations and activities for children and their Families. In the DreamBIG Forest, children and families could draw or write down their most precious dreams, and hang them in the trees. Budding artists were given a blank blackboard canvas on which they could create their own masterpieces in the Chalkboard Gallery, and would-be inventors strived for glory at our Catapult Wars.
Family Day at the Adelaide Fringe
Nonsense provided a variety of workshops, including book making, mask making, nature crowns, and a cardboard town, across 3 seperate events for the families of Fringe partners and sponsors. Children had the opportunity to leave the books they had created in our library, so everyone could have a read of their masterpieces.
Australia Day for Unley Council
To help families celebrate becoming fully fledged citizens of Australia, Nonsense provided bucketloads of native Australian plants and flowers in order for children and their families to create nature crowns and feel like rockstars on their special day.
Bikeways and Brunch in the Parklands for Adelaide City Council
While grown ups consulted about the new bikeways being built in the council area, children (joined by a few crafty parents!) banded together to create their own city made out of cardboard, complete with a power plant, a hospital, and its own bike lanes.
Christmas Workshops in Rundle Mall
In order to ignite a Christmas spirit, and a creative flair, in Rundle Mall shoppers, Nonsense run Christmas bonbon making workshops for children on the four weekends leading up to Christmas.
We may have brought the snaps to make your bonbons go bang, but our workshop participants certainly brought the laughs by telling us some bonbon worthy jokes!
